Dr. Berg talks about the best times to eat to lose weight. The technique we are using a technique called intermittent fasting to solve insulin resistance. And don't worry about losing your muscle, because both Growth Hormone (GH) and testosterone will protect you against muscle loss.

But the goal is to only eat two meals a day, however, for most people they must start with three meals a day and gradually transition to two meals a day. However, the best time to eat is 11:30 in the am and then at 5:00 pm in the evening. Add protein, greens, and fat with each meal. If you add more fat with a meal, you will be able to go longer.
However, this is the fastest way and even the easiest way to lose belly fat.

  1. Dr eric what if I don’t feel hungry at 5 o clock n i have my dinner at 8. Is it okay to have it at 8 wid my breakfast at 10 in the morning.

    Is it OK to drink black pure coffee during fasting period? Some dietitians recommend only water and say that even pure coffee can trigger insulin. I noticed that coffee helps me suppress hunger during fasting time. Also I assume no supplements(vitamins etc.) during fasting as they also may be a cause of insulin release, correct?

  6. There are days when I can make it till 5pm before I have my first meal, and there are other days when I’m starving from the moment I wake up! Should I still fast till dinner, and starve myself all day? I certainly don’t feel better when I do that and I certainly don’t have more energy!

    Also, intermittent by definition means not having any regularity to what ever it is, yet this sounds like something people do every day. What’s intermittent about this fast?

  7. would intermittent fasting help with adrenal fatigue? I have a nice little belly pooch (and a lot of bloat) and I’ve done intermittent fasting before but only for about 3 months, I felt really good and was only having a one large meal a day. I then did a green smoothie cleanse and then moved into a water fast, which is when I crashed. this first round of intermittent fasting was my first time doing really anything about the 25lbs of pure fat I’ve gained over the past 4 years.

  8. Is drinking coffee in the morning with a very small amount of half & half ruining my intermittent fasting plan? Been eatting salad greens with albacore tuna & 2 hard boiled eggs for lunch & salad greens with boneless skinlesz chicken for dinner…but so have 3 cups of coffee in the am no sugar just approx 1 T half & half.

Sounds good and I am able to eat 2 meals/day but I work now and can’t eat whenever I want.  Frequently if I don’t eat in the morning before work (830)  I can’t get away to eat at a certain time so it can be late and then my energy level really goes down if it is 2-3pm..  And my second meal isn’t until 730-8pm. Trying to work this out.  Before I returned to work I would eat at 1130-12 and again anywhere from 430- 6pm.  What would be best to do in this situation?

  11. Your advice makes SO much sense. I have been frustrated for a long time because there is a lot of conflicting “health” information out there. But who is right? Then I found you.
    This week I have begun the 3 meals per day idea: 7am, 1pm, 7pm for 1 month. These times times are based on our families’ schedule to keep other things as normal as possible. My job is very active, I may never be able to get down to 2 meals. At the end of the month I will re-evaluate and try 2 meals. Thank you for making sense!! And explaining how bodies actually work.

  13. I love fruits and vegetables and fatty steaks and bacon. I hate salads. I don’t even crave them. Smoothies and shakes with them are ok. Just ok but it is like my body rejects em.
