Is GMO food bad for your health?

Body Fat Tip:
Tighten your stomach and back muscles when you go out and try to hold it for as long as possible. If you stop, start again as soon as you remember. Not only will this improve your posture, but it will help tone the muscles you use to stand up straight – including your bottom!Popcorn is a great snack for losing weight. Avoid movie theater popcorn or making popcorn with a lot of added butter or oils. Corn is a whole grain and whole grains are very important to consume when on a weight loss program. Buy or borrow popcorn air popper. The air popping method is very healthy. If the popcorn tastes too bland for you, try experimenting with spices or even adding Parmesan cheese to the popcorn for different taste ideas that are not fatty and laden with butters or oils.

GMO food is a hot topic for discussion it today’s world. With nonGMO labeling being tossed around for marketing clout. But is gmo really bad? The fact is that the health effects of long term ingestion of gmo is unknown. And the use of herbicides like glyphosate on gmo food is icing on the cake of question. Hybrids foods on the other hand are simply plants cross pollinated in order to change the fruit in a more natural way. Let me know your opinions in the comments.

  1. I'm not sure what you mean by the long term effects of GMO's(and by that I'm assuming you mean GM crops) are unknown, because we do know; countless studies have been performed, with easier to digest meta analyses on these, that show GM crops have no more negative health effects than artificially bred crops.

And, while many GM crops are modified for extra pesticide protection, that's certainly not the only thing. Some have larger yields, produce pesticides themselves- not dangerous to humans- are more nutritious, can survive harsher weather conditions etc. Specific genetic modification using tools like CRISPR is basically a faster and more efficient way of performing artificial selection. We're still just shaping the gene pool, but a lot more selectively, and with the added benefit of being able to splice new genes in.

Currently the agricultural system in most of the world, especially in places like the US and Brazil, is very privatized and exploitative. And GM crops are helping propagate that, but that's a problem with capitalism and the agricultural industry, not the idea of GM crops.

  2. Can't feed all 7 billion people now. You do it all truly organic, who decides what 2 billion or more get to die? The history of starvation is so shocking compared to the last 50 years. Good grief.
